Why Irish businesses buy

Ireland is a Google-first market, and your reviews decide who gets the call.

Four hard numbers explain why Irish buyers who trust Google reviews are the most valuable local traffic on the web, and why staying under 4.5 stars quietly hands your customers to the shop down the road.

Over 94% of Irish search runs through Google

StatCounter data for Ireland 2025 puts Google above 94% on desktop and 97% on mobile. When someone in Rathmines types 'emergency dentist', the three practices in the map pack take almost every call. The rest scrap over the leftovers.

Irish consumers read more reviews than the EU average

The CCPC Consumer Detriment Survey and industry trust reports 2024 found that 83% of Irish adults read at least five reviews before a local purchase, and 65% skip anything under 4.0 stars. Trust is slower to earn here and more valuable once earned.

Review recency is a top 5 map-pack ranking signal

Whitespark's Local Search Ranking Factors 2024, cross-checked on Irish markets, lists review recency in the top 5 pack signals. Three fresh reviews from the last 30 days often beat a profile sitting on 60 reviews from 2022.

Irish customers spot bad copy immediately

An Irish review that reads generic, or worse translated from another market, is clocked in seconds. Native, locally toned reviews convert three times better than US-flavoured or translated text. That is the gap between BGR and cheap providers flooding the market.

Every published review appears in your BGR dashboard within an hour, with reviewer town, date and star count.

Voices from Ireland

What Irish owners actually say

"We moved from position 6 to 2 in the map pack in seven weeks. New patient enquiries rose 71%. The drip looked completely organic. No competing practice ever flagged it."

Dr. Aoife K.
Owner, dental practice, Dublin 2

"Went from 3.7 to 4.7 stars in two months, weekend covers up 54%. The reviews sound like the regulars who actually eat with us, not filler waffle."

Colm B.
Manager, restaurant, Galway Latin Quarter

"After a run of unfair 1-star reviews in spring we were sitting at 3.4. BGR pulled us back to 4.6 in six weeks and the diary doubled. Best marketing spend of the year, easily."

Niamh D.
Director, physiotherapy clinic, Cork

The honest answer

Is buying Google reviews legal in Ireland?

Short version: yes, when the review comes from a real Irish consumer with a real experience. No, when it does not. The Consumer Rights Act 2022 and the CCPC's enforcement line have sharpened the rules. Most low-cost providers missed it.

Core statute
Consumer Protection Act 2007 & Consumer Rights Act 2022
Prohibit misleading commercial practices, including fake or unverified reviews. Consumer Rights Act 2022 transposed the EU Omnibus Directive with effect from 28 November 2022.

The Consumer Protection Act, in plain English

The 2007 Act prohibits misleading commercial practices. The 2022 Act added specific transparency duties for traders that display reviews: you must disclose whether and how you verify authenticity. The CCPC can seek prohibition orders and administrative sanctions up to EUR 60,000 per contravention, plus court fines for continued breaches.

How we stay on the right side

Every Irish reviewer either uses your service, receives a real sample, or reviews from documented first-hand experience. Nothing is invented, nothing is recycled. Briefings never carry medical, legal, financial or trade outcome promises your business cannot back up.

The EU Omnibus framework (2019/2161)

In force in Ireland since November 2022 via SI 336/2022 and the Consumer Rights Act, the framework treats fake or unverified reviews as an unfair commercial practice per Annex I. Verified genuine-experience reviews remain fully compliant. Our briefings work within exactly that line.

What we do not do

We do not post from empty accounts, we do not attack competitors, we do not fabricate photos of your premises and we do not publish claims your business cannot substantiate. If an order crosses that line, we refund and refuse.

What "Irish reviewer" actually means at BGR

Answers

Irish Google reviews - questions we get every week

Is it legal to buy Google reviews in Ireland?+

The Consumer Protection Act 2007 and the Consumer Rights Act 2022 (transposing the EU Omnibus Directive from 28 November 2022) prohibit misleading commercial practices, fake reviews and reviews without disclosed verification. Reviews remain compliant when they reflect a genuine Irish consumer experience. Every BGR Ireland reviewer is briefed to describe only real experience, which keeps your Google Business Profile clear of the CCPC and outside the enforcement patterns the Commission for Communications Regulation flags each year.

Do you use Irish reviewers with IE IP addresses?+

Yes. Every review posts from an Irish Google profile on a residential IE IP, aged 12 months or more, matched to your town, Eircode area and industry. That keeps map-pack signals consistent and pushes filter survival above 96% from Dublin to Donegal.

Are the reviews written in native Irish English?+

Yes. Every review is written by an Ireland-based reviewer in native Irish English - no machine translation, no US phrasing. Local touches are respected: 'grand' where it fits, 'craic' for hospitality, plain speech for tradesmen, and formal tone for legal and dental profiles.

How fast will I see reviews on my Google profile?+

The first Irish review goes live within 24 to 48 hours. A ten-review order drips over 7 to 12 days so the pattern mirrors how a busy Dublin restaurant or a Cork tradesman would naturally receive reviews.

What if a review is filtered by Google?+

Every Ireland order includes a 30-day replacement guarantee. If a live review drops off inside that window we replace it at no extra cost from a fresh Irish profile in a different county.

Do you invoice in EUR with Irish VAT?+

Billing is USD by default. Irish customers can request an EUR commercial invoice with 23% VAT line-itemed, or a reverse-charge invoice for B2B customers with a valid EU VAT number. Invoices are issued within one business day.

Which Irish counties and cities do you cover?+

All 26 counties of the Republic. Highest volume is Dublin, Cork, Galway, Limerick, Waterford, Drogheda, Swords, Dundalk, Bray, Navan, Kilkenny, Ennis, Tralee, Sligo, Wexford, Letterkenny and Athlone. We've posted reviews from over 140 Irish towns.

How much do Irish Google reviews cost?+

Packages start around EUR 11 per review on the 20-pack and drop under EUR 10 per review on the 100-pack. Full USD pricing lives on our main service page and EUR conversion is shared on request.
